Closing the Foresight-Action Gap

The first person I heard use “future” as a verb was probably Douglas Rushkoff. That would’ve been about 2018, and Rushkoff was already years into making the argument that a better future depended on having more people actively involved in exploring and shaping futures. He wanted to push us all out of passivity and into agency, into the belief that the future didn’t have to be something that happened to us. It could be something we would meaningfully and intentionally co-create.
